The Next Stage of the Stella Insurance x WAGEC Partnership

At Stella Insurance, we’re always looking for ways to partner with like-minded people and organisations to drive actionable and progressive change for the women of Australia. That’s why in February 2021 we were thrilled to announce our partnership with the Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) to support women, amplify their voices and help put an end to gender-based violence.

Since then, we’ve been looking for a range of tangible ways to further support the WAGEC community. Along with elevating the incredible work this grassroots organisation does to support women in crisis, we wanted to provide material aid to the hundreds of women and families WAGEC supports every year.

Today, we’re thrilled to share the next stage of our partnership with WAGEC and drive real change, support and empowerment for women and children who have experienced homelessness and domestic violence.

This year, we will be donating $5 from every  new car insurance policy we sell to support WAGEC’s Donations Program.

And here’s why: every year, WAGEC supports over 1,500 women and families in crisis, providing over $522,000 in material support  to their clients. Every night, they support over 200 women and children impacted by homeless, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage.

These donations will ensure these women and families in need receive essential items, such as non-perishable food, linen and towels, toiletries, technology and furniture when they move into a new home. It’s a small but meaningful way Stella Insurance and our customers can restore choice, confidence and hope to women and families in crisis.

Teaming up with another organisation for women, by women

When we first met with WAGEC, we instantly knew we wanted to throw our support behind this passionate, purpose-driven organisation. That’s because our mission at Stella is much bigger than changing the insurance game for women. Our plan is to help change the game, full stop.

Unfortunately, domestic and family violence is devastatingly common: 1 in 4 women have experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner since the age of 15. We need to use our voices, our power and our reach to help WAGEC end  gender based violence.

How can you make a difference?

Ready to make meaningful change in the lives of women and families in crisis? If you haven’t already, sign up to Stella Insurance where  $5 from your new policy goes  directly to WAGEC.

Plus, you can also head straight to WAGEC’s donations page to give money, material aid, or even volunteer your time. Remember: every bit, no matter how big or small, helps.

Together we are on the road to support women and families who have experienced homelessness and domestic violence.
