Stella was created because many insurance products have been designed without taking women’s needs or circumstances into account.
When Stella founder & CEO Sam White began looking at the small print on insurance contracts, she found that most insurers would not pay out on a claim if the car has been damaged by someone known to the claimant. A large percentage of this cohort are victims of domestic abuse. How is that fair? This is just one example of many where the needs of women don’t seem to have been taken into account.

Our latest campaign addresses the terminology we use to describe courage. It’s not about restricting language, it’s about expanding it. Because challenging the status quo or championing equality doesn’t just take ‘balls’… ‘IT TAKES BOOBS’.
We understand that inclusivity is more than just physiology, it’s a mentality. So, it doesn’t matter who you are, or how you identify. We believe a diverse array of needs and experiences should be considered when creating products.
