Whether it’s a long weekend break or a week-long break in the sun, there’s no better way to spend time with the girls than on a holiday. We’re talking (and dreaming of) leisurely strolls through amazing towns, finding untouched beaches and bays, and eating and drinking your way through your holiday destinations.

And if you can’t wrangle your girls to take a trip right this second, don’t sweat it. There is this amazing thing called *manifesting* or just go large and send a group text immediately with tentative dates and watch your dream vacay unfold. The group chat is also an awesome way to keep these holiday destinations at the forefront of the girls’ minds—and your savings accounts.

Without further ado, here’s our epic round-up of the best getaways for you and your besties. Go forth! Live your best lives!

Unwind in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Located just one hour south of Melbourne this is the perfect getaway for the women in your life who love a little pampering and rate the great outdoors and did we mention Mornington Peninsula is home to some of the best pinot noir and chardonnay in the country. Once you’ve drank your way through the exquisite vineyards head to the Peninsula Hot Springs where you can restore and revitalise in their natural thermal mineral baths. If saltwater is more your vibe, then swim, snorkel or simply relax in Port Phillips Bay where you will find some of the best beaches Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Your biggest problem? So many beaches, so little time…

Take a digital detox in Tasmania

Pure white sands curving around calm seas of a deep blues, and deep green forests – even by Tasmania’s high standards, Freycinet National Park over-delivers on scenery. Reconnect with nature and your girl gang while sailing, hiking and swimming together on the Freycinet Peninsula, midway along Tasmania’s east coast. Now you’ve burned all those kilojoules it’s time to take a flavour-filled journey around Tassie, mixing the island’s top sights with its best restaurants and freshest produce. Finally get the ultimate culture hit at Mona, where you can push the boundaries of what art should be in 2022. In the nine months that the museum closed during the pandemic, the art was reassessed and rehung, allowing for new works to come into the collection and old favourites to return. Of course, some things never change. There’s still live music on the lawn. You can grab a glass of Moorilla wine or Moo Brew. Livin’

Bask in the sun in Queensland

Do we even need to tell you? Surely you know about the amazing beaches that make the Gold Coast the ultimate sunshine destination. From the beloved Burleigh Beach south to the less explored Currumbin Creek, The Gold Coast is an overflowing treasure trove of sandy havens and sun-soaked goodness. Kirra Beach is often (unfairly) overlooked but is one of the most beautiful spots on the coast, while Fingal Head Beach will forever be a favourite spot to throw down our towel and bask in the sun. Once the day winds down it’s time to hit the town for drinks and dinner. Check out The Island Rooftop Bar for a sunset Aperol

Shop ‘til you drop in NSW

If you live by the mantra that shopping is your cardio, a shopping weekend in Sydney with the girls will be right up your alley. When you get sick of shopping, see the latest exhibitions at the MCA or do the bridge climb for sunrise. Next on your list has to be Manly, just half an hour away from the CBD by ferry, Manly is one of the best secret weekend getaway spots in NSW. Complete with beaches, Insta-worthy walks, bars and restaurants.

For the wildlife warriors, South Australia

Kangaroo Island is renowned for its abundant wildlife and beautiful coastal scenery making it the perfect gals getaway. Whether meeting the seals at Seal Bay, visiting Remarkable Rocks, sand boarding on the Little Sahara sand dunes, or walking the Flinders Chase National Park trails, you’re all set. While there, sample the local delicacies; cheese, oysters, gin, whiting, wine and honey. Kangaroo Island is just 30 minutes by plane from Adelaide or a 45-minute ferry from Cape Jervis (which is a two-hour drive from Adelaide). Make sure you include the Fleurieu Peninsula (and particularly the seaside town of Victor Harbour) in your SA itinerary. This is where sand, surf and wildlife intersect. Enjoy fish and chips on the beach, head to Granite Island, home of the little penguins, or join a boat tour to see Southern Right whales from June to October.

It’s time to coordinate your calendars, cancel all other plans; work can wait, there’s no time like the present to holiday with your besties. So go forth and make some incredible memories while you sip on a spicy marg!
